Here's an interesting Egret behavior I thought I'd share.
Our boy below is not drinking he is actually fishing, by using his beak and tapping just below water line very rapidly he/she creates vibrations/motion which attracts fishys.
You can see the ripples created by the action.

Your right, although I've seen this tactic several times. I can't say I've seen it produce an abundunce of fishies
They (Egrets) have endless patience so however long it takes, I guess
