I went on a 14 hour, 3-4 hundred mile road trip with Grimace to take some
Barn and landscape shots.

Here are some of the shots.
All Taken with a Canon XT with a Tamron 18-200 DI lens. Post work done with PSE4.

I like 'em. My favorites are #3 (with the windmill) and #7 (last one in cemetary). Deep blue sky, red barn, and green foliage.

The creek shot is also good, but the rope is distracting to me. I had to look again to see that it was a rope. It's just barely not touching the water... I dunno, just looks out of place.

Love the B&W sillhouette on the last one.

Someone read the "pop" tutorial for the first shot! naughty.gif It jumps out.

I also like the cemetery sign a lot. And I really like the imposing nature f the barn in the second shot.

    Thanks again guys.
I don't know about the POP tutorial, I tried a search for it after I read your
    message, but came up empty.

We took a ton of graveyard shots that day. I may have to go back with my
Sony 717 and get some IR shots of it. But it is a bit of a drive it get back there. :D

    Thanks again.

The composition is very nice....with the hillside balancing that great old barn. One nit....was the stone on the barn that shade or did you go a little too far with the saturation on the red?

    Thanks guys.

Adam, I know how you missed it, you were probably chasing that crazy dog of yours. :D

RIc, the colors were Saturated a bit, but yes, they're about the color.

wxwax, thanks for the link, It doesn't do much for me though, I do the post work with PSE4. No Lab color, no curves. I think there's a plug-in for curves, but I found that I can get good results just by using Levels.

    Thanks again guys.

Funny you should say that. He decided to run away from "blondie" today and I just got back from a 3 hour search for him. Not to worry, he is safe and sound. The funny thing is he made it across the Minnesota River (long story)

The best part is while searching for him I stumbled across some great photo locations. :D
