Thanks Jeff. The water was behing him with the reflection of the clouds. I just gad the right angle for the shot.

That morning light was really sweet, wasn't it? Especially #3 and #5thumb.gif

Thanks PF. The light on the two mornings I shot was just about perfect. :):

    These are just awsome!
Makes me want to move to FL, and I'm even thinking about rising early eek7.gif
But then I'd need to learn to shoot!! Laughing.gif!

I especially like the wood stork. The lines of the legs and reflections of them are really great. And the fifth shot is my other fave! Tho, not easy to pic from this group!

Oh yeah! That's it! This is perfect for the contrast challenge. But, glad you won't be tempted. You're beyond that foolishness.

These are all so wonderful. The water was like a mirror. What a morning that must have been! My real favorite is the last one. It sure had me studying it. That's what I like in a photo, that it makes me look real hard. I love the story of how you got it. The details of how you invisioned it make it that much better. Thanks for sharing that with us.

    Snappy

Thanks Snappy. The shot may be perfect for the challenge but it was taken outside the alloweable time period biggrinbounce2.gif

It was quite a morniing. You don't get that kind of light too often.

Nice calm water, Harry! Love how you took advantage of it. And I do like that planned shot with the snowy.

excellent set. (You kept most of the woodstorks!)

Thanks Ginger. I found those woodstorks and I'm keeping every last one of them! mwink.gif

Harry, just gotta tell ya. This is one awesome series. You've really outdone yourself. However, that last shot is unbelievable. If that's for real, it's one of the finest compositions I've ever seen. Congratulations, man. I think you've entered another realm with these.

Once again, Great Stuff Harry ... too bad you're not in the Golden State ... love to shoot with you (even though I don't do much, if any, nature).

Last night I had a Black & Tan in your honor!

PS- Glad that crop worked out ... sometimes I get lucky with my remarks.

    -G-

Thanks again Gary and don't underestimate your contribution here. I am always thrilled when i get a good critique. Once you suggested the crop it sort of hit me in the face how right you were. I was so intent on getting the reflection of the egret behind the glossy ibis that I didn't evaluate the rest of the scene.

When I lived in NYC I didn't shoot wildlife, Living in Florida with a camera almost amkes it mandatory that you do some wildlife shooting.

Thank you very much Troy. I like that one a lot because it was probably one of the toughest shots I got that day. I had to take 4 shots before I got the exposure right.

Thanks Joel. I took these after I had completed watching the Reznick DVDs and I was applying some of the stuff he had talked about. Every time I do on e of his sessions in person or on video it seems that my photograpy edges up a tad.

That last shot is for real. Its one shot with very minimal post work.

You made me say "Wow!" out loud! I don't have a favorite -they are all equally great! That last image hurt my head trying to figure it out -with a reflection that strong I'm stunned that none of the birds did a face plant thinking that there was more sky...
