580ex dies?

1/2 way thru a shoot today the flash will no longer fire. The pilot will not fire, the flash sounds like it charging until it shuts off... any clues? Then on the top when I pull out the diffused car all the lcd stats flashing. I took it off powered up and down and nothig.. any ideas? Even if the flash maybe was not firing was it still getting info to the camera?

    My 550EX once did something similar, and it was as simple as putting fresh batteries in it. Have you tried that?ne_nau.gif
