Hi all,

I have been lurking for a while, and think that I better introduce myself now :):

2 days ago I visited my parents farm, they are bringing in the harvest by now, and I think this picture will do as my introduction:

PICT8850-vi.jpg

I didn't like the ligth in the color version, I think it works better in black and white.

Taken at 140 mm (210 effective), F7,1, ISO 400 and 1/400 sec.

PP: Black and white conversion, contrast and sharpening. Minor tweaks in exposure.

I hope this is the place for this picture, otherwise please let me know.

I am still learing a lot - so CC's are allways welcome :):

Wow that's quite a big machine isnt it, an old tractor is all I can lay claim to having riden on :D

Sometimes things look better in B&W than they do in colour, you didn't show us the colour version so I can't say..... hey I like the colour one better rolleyes1.gif

The B&W version looks fine to me, you can even see the two people inside the cabin of that big machine ..... I do hope you enjoy the forum.

You'd get a lot of photo opportunities on a farm I'm sure, so you keep posting away wont you thumb.gif Thanks for sharing.... Skippy (Australia)

Welocme to Dgrinwave . Good shot, you handled a difficult exposure quite well. I'm going to move this over to the Forum. Field and Street

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks
Thanks both - It is nice getting some feedback :):

It is a HUGE machine, and the noise is really loud. The most amazing thing is that it can turn around on less space than anything else - the backwheels are extremly small, while the frontwheels are really huge.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Welcome to Dgrin.
That's a Case 2166 or 2188, cutting oil seed rape. I haven't taken any shots of the harvest this year, way too much dust. Good luck with the harvest. It rained here last night so we have stopped until it dries out again.
