i was amazed to see dragon was flying here and there very easily even with his pray
a cloudy day iso 200 so neat image 1/80 1/160 1/100 lens stabalizing is working well :thumb

This is a Robber Fly Awais, and you were lucky to photograph him with dinner in hand hooray for you ..... bet you were excited to find this guy, you got some great shots of him Awais.

Skippy i was shooting a mosquito on my hand unitl i noticed a movement in grape vine i was excited to see a pray if light was good i would have cought whole scene of struggle

Cool robber Awais. I've seen only a few and never photographed one. The natural light look very nice.

Wow- great shots Awais- A lovely Robber fly with a plant bug prey. Great colour , composition and clarity.
You are one up on me I've never even seen one of these.
Interestingly enough these flies will actually take out a dragonfly they are that powerful.

Beautiful shots of a robber fly Awais!

I've seen them here, but I've never been able to get them on "film". I think I saw one with a dragonfly once -the robber fly was colored to mimic the dragon, but I couldn't get close enough to shoot it. Robber flies inject a poison and enzymes into their prey and then drink the fluids, much like a spider.

Awais, the last photograph is excellent! I love the background blur, the sharpness of your subjects, the angle and the fact that you got the predator holding onto his prey.
