Wow - what a trip! You've got some great shots here. I like the ones w/ the riders breaking away / riding in front of the peleton and the way you blurred the group in the bkgd. That 1st one is interesting too - any idea what is he doing? (looks like he was late for the race and had to finish getting dressed on the bikerolleyes1.gif)

    cheers,

    C.

PS - I like the sunflowers too

Thanks very much! That shot was taken at the 25m mark at the summit of Alpe d'Huez. It's the winner of the stage and he's zipping up his jersey as he's about to cross the finish! Gotta show off the sponsors in the next AM newspapers. :): Here he is in the shot just prior...

Very nice pictures. Seeing the angle you had on those shots, I take it you spent some time on the backseat of a motorbike?
enjoy being here while getting there

Thanks! No motorbike riding this year...just strategic placement. :): I have a broken collarbone and couldn't risk any bumps/bangs/tumbles.

Thanks! It's worth the trip if you can plan it...I do all my own planning and save a ton of money. The plain ticket usually comes out to be the most money and if you plan early enough even that's not too painful.

Broken collarbone, eh... That is a classic sign that you are a cyclist. That would explain your knowing where to position yourself on the course to get the best photos without having the "luxury" of riding on the back of a motorcycle like the great Graham Watson. I enjoyed looking at all of your galleries, especially the Tour of Georgia photos. Thanks for posting.

Very nice. And what an excellent way to get away. Looks like you found yourself some excellent spots.

Thanks very much! Yup...cycling injury...it was a nasty spill too...25+mph endover. Caused me to miss this year's Giro and Tour de Georgia too.! :cry Knowing cycling as a rider definitely helps with course placement for photography!
