E300 lifetime

Could someone please tell me on which official website I would find the actual life span of an Olympus E300 digital camera? I have been told its about 30,000 shots but cannot locate the actual number in the camera manuals, on the Olympus product or support web sites.

    I keep hearing 50000 for the E300 and E500, but I haven't seen an actual official reference.
