Hi guys,
I am going to buy a CANON 20D this weekend.
But I don't know yet what lense can I buy.
I am looking for a everyday lense.
What do you recommend from this list?
Sigma 18-200 F3.5-6.3 DC
Sigma 18-125 F3.5-5.6 DC
Canon EFS 17-85 F4-5.6 IS
Is there any other???
Thanks

Another lens to consider is Canon's 28-135 IS lens. Not as wide as the 17-85, but on other hand is longer. Also not an EF-S mount, which may or may not be an issue for you.

Canon 24-70 L
Canon 24-105 L IS

Take a step down from these, and you get into lots of others:

As Ivar mentions, a idea of what you budget is will help you get recommendations that line up with the money you have to spend.
Just my take. There are good lenses, very good lenses and excellent lenses. Usually, the better the lens, the more the cost. So besides your budget, it will likely boil down to what level lens you will be satisfied with.

I use a Tokina 28-70mm f2.8 AT-X on my Nikon. It's a very good lens, good value, and has exceptional build-quality. It's soft at f2.8 but sharpens up nicely after above that.
Guys,
I don't want to spend more than $800 in a single lense. This is my budget for it.
But if you have a great deal for a $1000 I can go for it.
Thanks everyone

You have a huge number of lenses available, any Canon EOS mount will work.
Off the top of my head, for walkaround: the 17-85/4-5.6 IS mentioned, 17-55/2.8IS just released, 24-105/4, 24-70/2.8 from Canon. There's a number of third-party lenses that get good reviews (example: Sigma 24-70) and are cheaper than Canon's. I'm not sure how good the rest of Canon's normal zooms are--not much discussion & I have the one I need, so am not paying a lot of attention.
Right now I have the 24-70 living on my 20D & it's a great combination. Just not cheap.
BTW, you can look in the used market for most of these for better pricing (the Canon 24-70 is usually $900-$950 used for example).

Guys,
Thanks for the help.
The forum and the reviews helped me decided what I need for now.
I got a brand new 20D for $1000.00
Lexar Professional 133x 2GB $124.99
Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO $589.99
When I get a few bucks in my pocket I am going for these lenses:
CANON 24-70 2.8L USM
CANON EF 70-200MM F2.8L AF USM
