great shot skippyclap.gif I really like this little guy (how little was he?) I think the exposure's spot on, I like the DOF, his eye is crisp and sharp and the red on his warts really stands out. He's definately a toad, but when I tried, I couldn't ID him (my field guide is in my office).

    thanks for sharing,

    C.

Hi there Frog Lady.....he was around about an Inch high in the way he is sitting in that photo... I saw smaller ones, but not ones that were bigger, so I'm guessing this was one of what I would call average size.

I sharpened his eye a little more than the rest of him :D there were heaps of them around the lake.......... Skippy (Australia)

Hey there........ you know I've only been to QLD two times in my whole life and never seen a Cane Toad ever.......oh oh oh I fib I saw a dead dried up, frizzled up one, which hardly resembled a frog at all rolleyes1.gif

So he don't count :D .......spose I coulda just added water rolleyes1.gif

I really don't know anything about those little frogs except that they were so hard to see because they blended in with the fallen leaves and the ground....... Skippy (Australia)

Ohhhhhh I forgot to do the test...........
I should have kissed it and seen if it turned into a Prince hu rolleyes1.gif NOT! :D

Those Frogs/Toads are pretty common around the area where I was, those little things were everywhere, but unfortunately you could easily stand on them because they blend in with surroundings so well.

Thanks for looking John........ Skippy (Australia)

OK Skippy, I have ISSUES :soapbox

    1) Lack of streamlining, warty skin and short hind legs equals TOAD!!!

    2) You had to come all the way from Down Under to OHIO (of all places)? What? You don't have "frogs" (I mean, TOADS) over there?

    3) You took those shots "last year" and you're JUST NOW posting them?
I sure wouldn't want you writing MY forensic reports rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

And finally: YA SHOULDA KISSED IT. You never know! :gone

    Hey Skippy!
Don't worry, I have plenty of shots from last year I haven't processed yet. Excellent use of DOF on your toad. That eye looks wonderfully sharp.

Thanks Nick :D ...... I tried to get a front on shot of him, but he wasn't gonna be co-operative, so I didn't hassle him, I tried a couple of times to get in front of him, then just left him alone :D Skippy (Australia)
