I cheated, I found an avian observatory at my local bird conservation center.
They have a lot of thick brush about so it's hard to get any that are not on the feeders... Oh well, I still like this one.
blue jay - cropped a bit and shows that I need a better lens...
and the monarch, got this one while waiting for the birds to forget I was there.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Try to see where the birds perch while they wait their turn to feed, if possible.
Nice shots, all.

Try to capture the (a) bird comming toward the feeder or flying away from it and a Tripod + Manual focus + Patience can make it all happen.
Hope to see more from you soon.
Thanks for sharing.
