I've been messing with this now for a few hours. I'd hate to go back to StarExplorer and multiple computers, but it looks like I may have no choice.
I've tried reinstalling it, upgrading it, and even system restoring my system to a previous working state. :dunno
Any assistance appreciated.

I just tried it and it seems to be working correctly again. I will do a battery of tests and see what details I come up with. Stay tuned.

But StarExplorer > Send to Smugmug! Why do you say StarExplorer requires multiple computers?
But if I try to "Create new Album" upon upload, I get the following message inside a dialog box: If you click on the "Details" button on the dialog box, you get this: Clicking "Continue" basically does nothing to the application, but does make the box go away. "Quit" does what it says and shuts down the application.

I have 3 cable modems and a Linksys rv016 router. This router manages bandwidth based on usage to the cable modems.
The only way to saturate all 3 cable modems is to have 3 instances of files uploading, each saturating each upload stream, hence using all my available upload bandwidth.
FTP clients have been doing this for a few years now, using a "queue" and "streams" to connect multiple times to an FTP server in order to maximize the upload speed. But this feature does not exist in any form for a SM uploader. :cry This is supposed to be possible in the upcoming new SM uploader, SmugUp.
So the only way to maximize the bandwidth utilization is to use multiple instances of an uploading program. S2SM allows multiple instances on a single computer. SE does not. So to get SE to do what S2SM can do, I have to run SE on multiple computers on the network. And SE starts up very slowly due to the large number of galleries I have. I'm saving around 30 minutes in just set up time alone with S2SM.
I actually purchased a SE license for uploading my entire library onto SM. It works pretty well for that--making large upload batches for multiple galleries. But it can't saturate the bandwidth. That's when I started using multiple computers to increase the speed of the upload multiple times.
And both programs still suffer from occasional missing pictures. I always have to verify all my uploads.
