Vacation in the Rockies

Ok folks. Had a panic attack tonight. Haven't had one in years -- thought I was over them. They were brought on when I lost my job and was out of work for almost a year. Well...this week was the most stressful at work since that time....but then I was off to vacation. And I woke up an hour ago full of terror that I needed to "get off this mountain". Thank God I have a good wife who calmed me down and reminded me that I was having an anxiety attack. I thought I was suffering from altitude sickness...though I could breathe just fine. But I was tingly all over and could not shake the fear.
This explains why, at 3am, I'm posting up some vacation picts instead of sleeaping. Sleep I need after "iron man" driving straight through 18 hours to get here, and then playing in the pool with my kids.
We needed to stop for gas and food -- and it was one of those "yeah, the signs says there's gass, but when you get off the highway, you find out you need to drive a couple miles into 'town'". Well, at least there was this picturesque windmill there.
OMG -- are the rockies beautiful. I've never seen anything like them. Took this on the drive up to Estes Park -- where we're staying at a Yogi Bear camp ground.
This is the de-luxe accomodations we're staying in.
This is the pool....the photos doesn't to justice to the mountains you can see from the pool.
I'll post more later....unless, I'm really dying of altitude sickness and not just having a panic attack (smile)
Check out the gallery -- lots of shots out the car window as we drove up the mountain.

I lived in Colorado when I was a teenager.....your shots bring back fond memories.
Thanks.
It's a good thing to stand still by the things that are important. I hope that you're creative in finding ways to show her your appriciation.
Some nice vacation snaps you have there but I don't know it this is the correct forum to show them. Nevertheless, have a good time and don't forget to show us the flora and fauna you encountered.
Thanks for sharing.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
