Setup: One camera, one lens, and one roll of film.
It a first pic out of the whole shoot, I'll come back tomorrow with a "real" process : I've had to edit the image on my 12" laptop, this ain't the best...
What lighting did you use? Normally, I wouldn't like everything going on in the background for a posed shot...but, this works.

Life is a compromise of what your ego wants to do, what experience tells you to do, and what your nerves let you do.
Hi,
well, I didn't use much gear :
Just my sb800 and an ombrella on the left, link to my camera with a synch cable. This all go through my sekonic flashmate (L308 or something like that) which I've used to determine a correct aperture.
I think the flash power was something like 1/2 or 1/1.
By the way : I'm not really into "luxurious" background either, I mean: for a portrait so, in fact, this is why I use the flash that way, underexposing the background.
Anyway, the suburban environment was really important for that portrait.
This is France but one can feel the american suburb's influence
I'm blown away this is France. I thought California immediatley!
