86407766-L.jpg All is well. I'm still adjusting to the altitude -- but now that I know this is what I'm dealing with -- things are ok.

This is Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. I was shooting with my 20D and 5D. This is from the 5D at 17mm -- love that full frame. It's also untouched other than being resized. I'm shooting raw + small jpg. I use the small jpg's on my ancient laptop which really can't process raw files. I'll do those later.
I have a ton of shots that I hope will look this good after I've processed them. This area is unbelievably beautiful.

Hope you can make it to Sky Pond in RMNP. Bit of a hike but worth
    every step.

I'll have my wife look it up. Don't know how "up to" a hike I am at this point. Though I must say, I feel terrific this morning. Think I'm finally acclimating to th altitude.

Well welcome to my state! :D If you can get over to the other side via trailridge and take some time and go into Grand Lake, you won't believe the photo-opps there! Continue on to Winter Park and up to Berthoud Pass. Awesome stuff!
Also, I don't know where you are staying in Estes..but west of the park (keep going straight heading west instead of hanging a right towards the park, coming from downtown) and head to the Y-Center...YMCA of teh Rockies. If ya have your tripod, bring it. Hit the Visitors center deck...it is just AMAZING......views just so gorgeous...maybe 5 minutes west of the park entrance....no more than 10.

Nice pictures Lee. The panoramic vista from the 5D looks good!

Are you still getting thunderstorms in the afternoons out there?

Thanks for the tip. Maybe next time. We're packing up now to head off to Colorado Springs.

Thanks -- and yes -- pretty much every day it rains in late afternoon--early evening. Not for long, though.

Of course. Actually, I didn't get really good landscape photos that day. It was very hot and bright out. We plan to go back this evening, and I hope to get some better picts.
