Ardnamurchan Peninsula

I took a little spin to the West and a tad to the North to a little blob of land off the Scottish Highlands called Morvern, Ardnamurchan and Moidart. It's actually not that far from me and I can't believe I've never been there before (at least not while I was old enough to remember). It truly is a stunning piece of this world, unfortunately my pictures don't do it justice, but I have a feeling I'll be back again in the not too distant future. Hopefully with more time and better weather!

While waiting for the ferry to cross the Corran Narrows, a swarm of RAF helicopters pass low just to let everyone know the 500 foot rule doesn't apply to them :)

The weather turned over night and I woke to a very wet morning. Photo opportunities were not plentiful on the Friday. I wish I had remembered my travel umbrella for the camera!

Looks like a great place to escape the Southwestern US summer heat!

So tell us here in "The Colonies": what's there to eat besides haggis? binge.gif

The road photo is great. The road leads the eye into the great puffy cloud sky. The road has dirt on it too which adds to it. It goes to show that not everything has to look like a postcard to be good.

Wow - there are some really nice shots here.

The derelict boat has a great line leading in to the frame.

Looks like you flipped the negative on A861 as it shows the road sign on the wrong side of the road. :D This too has a great leading line.

Some of the skies over Sunart are fantastic - esp the "Late Night"

    Good stuff.

Really nice images. Well done. Do you use a polarizer to bring out the dramatic sky?

Yup, and an ND grad. I've got to admit I keep the polariser on pretty much all the time now. There are few shots that don't benefit :D It's got nothing to do with my laziness whatsoever :D
