I have been asked to photograph my sister-in-law's wedding! eek! It's a very small wedding and she usually goes to Wal-Mart for her pics, so really I'm not too worried. :D

is there any equipment you would find essential to bring along? the wedding is at 3:30 in the afternoon and outdoors.

Also-any camera settings you would do beforehand?

thank you!!

    Don't forget your camera.

I find weddings one of the most stressfull things to do. Take an assistant and bring along a huge smile. Let me know if your still smiling when it's over.

P.S. Watch out for the 'mad mother in law' that turns up at these events. She won't stand still and keeps looking around.

Well in this situation people usually realize they get what they pay for and if its better than they expected they are happy.

Is the wedding soon? I ask because at 3:30 and outdoors in the summer there are gonna be some harsh shadows unless it is under a tent or some other type of structure.

If you have a flash bring it and use it.

What equipment do you have, this will help dgrinners advice you. Do you have a point & shoot an DSLR and what model? Do you have a external flash, what lenses, etc.
"A photo is like a hamburger. You can get one from McDonalds for $1, one from Chili's for $5, or one from Ruth's Chris for $15. You usually get what you pay for, but don't expect a Ruth's Chris burger at a McDonalds price, if you want that, go cook it yourself." - me
