Okay, okay.

Too much eye makeup, unfit model, gross expression.. the whole claw on the chainlink is a bit aggressive and rough. You blew out her chest but her face is still a bit dark, and she has dark circles under he eyes which could stand to be removed.

I understand that the people you are shooting for and the audience you are targetting may appreciate this sort of thing, but what I'm finding, Chris, is that it's too clean to be porn and not fine enough to be fine art. It's almost too "real" to be Maxim and a bit too trashy to be appealing. I don't quite see the purpose here, especially of posting, because to me this is just degrading all the cool, artistic shots you have posted here in the past. Looking through the set on your website, this is the LAST photo I would have selected!

And the irony is that it's the one that the client liked best - so you hit it when you said that it's specific to the purpose for the client. So yeah, the reason I posted it here for critique was specifically because it's the one that the client liked best.

I appreciate the critique, though, instead of the snark.

I'm rapidly finding that there's a very clear line between art and commercial viability. Art is often commercially viable, but genre-specific work like this is rarely art. I think the challenge is going to be in knowing the difference and bridging it whenever possible.

And still get paid :-)
