    I don't see anything wrong with the original imagene_nau.gif. Why edit it in the first place, especially when done so poorly?

    The cloning was so poor I find it hard to believe the editors didn't know it was doctored...

    All I can think is that the cloning is obvious once you look for it. But if you're not looking for it, perhaps you can miss it.

    Lame, I know. But I can't think of any other reason such blatant cloning would get past an experienced photo editor. Unless the editor himself wasn't a shooter and was unfamiliar with PS, which is entirely possible. Remember Andy's recent link to the NY Times photo editor? She wasn't a shooter.
