Hi everyone. I am thinking about buying a used canon 5d (USA model) from ebay. My question is, Is canon warranty transferable to a second owner given that all the paper work is present (bill of sales, etc...)

Also, has anyone bought new canon 5d body(USA) from ebay seller? if so, did canon honor the warranty?

Thank you so much
Juniperjones

I believe it is, I think you just have to have to warranty card present when you send it in.

I bought a 1DsMkll from our own Andy here on dgrin. The shutter went south some time later, and I sent it to Canon Factory Service in New Jersey, with the original warranty card made out to Andy. They serviced it without any qualms or hassals.

They knew I was not the original owner. They fixed it on their dime, not mine:): thumb.gif

Wow, that is great! How old was the 1DsMkll when you sent it in?
