Some Nevada Wetland Shots.
These were taken last week in a wetland area outside of Reno. It was a good day shooting, rewarding considering how close some of the birds came to me (which is very unusual for birds out here) without even knowing I was there. This was the first day shooting under a camo blind (layed down under the blind before the sun came up and essentially didn't move for the next couple of hours). The avocet chicks actually came too close (crossing through the minimum focusing distance of the lens). Again though, it was kind of cool watching them feeding, literally only a few feet away and not knowing I was there.
Hope you enjoy them. Comments/critiques always welcomed.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Government.....intelligence!
Well the first one computes. (now)
While all are very nice....this one was the most to my liking.
Thanks for sharing.

- Harry: I'm not the bird expert, but I think you have the glossy ibis back there, and out here we have the white-faced ibis.
- Ric: yes, believe it or not, Nevada does have a few puddles here and there.
