Neon dragon overload
More images from yesterday's shoot at Lago d'Averno. The Violet Darters migrated out away from the lake last may leaving only a handful for me to photograph. Sometime in the last week they started returning to the area and there well over 100 now -almost like walking through a swarm.
Canon 20D + 100mm macro lens. Manual mode, 1/250, F8, ISO 100. MT-24 macro flash set to -1 1/3 EV. Minimal post processing and no cropping. The head shot is at life size (working distance to target ~6").

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Nice pics.
