I was doing a bit of browsing around my site (not logged in) and went to the prints&gifts page
http://www.smugmug.com/prints/catalog.mg
customers are seeing the "wholesale" pricing???? Why?
this maybe OK for non-pro accounts... but not when I have customers saying "I thought it was $.19 for a 4x6?"
Did I do something wrong or am I viewing something only a pro-user can see?

Anthony, your customers know how much a print costs them at the local print lab, or any online service. You are a professional, your price is your price. If you are a pro, and you have the SmugMug footer, the link will be to http://www.smugmug.com/prints/catalog2.mg which has no pricing on it.

    I hope this helps.

Don't get confused, your selling your service, not prints. The print cost is just a small fraction of the actual cost to create that shot. When you add in equipment, labor, transportation, etc.... a $5.00 4x6 is a bargain.

If your customer can't understand that you really didn't have a customer to start with.

OK. But if I do not show the enite SM footer and only the mini version then it links to SM and THEIR help pages that DO contain the print prices... Right?

And I do get that I'm selling my services.... I still get folks who will complain...

. I still get folks who will complain...

Ask them if they expect to pay more for the plumber to install the new toilet, versus them going to Home Depot, and doing it themselves...

Your stuff is good. Don't worry about those folks, Anthony.
