If affordable is important, the LowePro Computrekker is probably a good choice.

Might want to check out the new Lowepro CompuDaypack....it is the size of a regular book backpack, stores your gear in a lower padded area (like the compurover). It was about $80 at B&H

    Hi,

Will that be your primary computer?

I've chosen to get a 12" apple laptop to be able to go everywhere with it but, at home, I get it connected to a 20" screen.

Thus, the 12" will fit any lowepro backpack's outside big pocket.

Do any of you know if there are others that use the inside zipper setup the way the crumplers do?

    I don't think so.

Anyway, I've already owned a Crumpler backpack (the middle one, all-photo, Brian's hottub, I guess) and, well... to really enjoy it, you must not need your gear quickly, for you have to unwear your backpack, lay it on a table or anything else, then open it. Moreover, it takes much place.

But, I agree: crumpler bags are very-well build and they look good, too.

I agree all around with your comments.

I also agree with Lynnie, your style is very engaging, has an immediacy to it, very photojournalist.

there's a connector on the back. i've never seen a laptop not have one. some are covered by plastic hinges and are recessed further back in the laptop, but they're there.
bored? check out my photo site...and if you have the time, leave a comment or rate some pictures while you're there.

I was about to say it thumb.gif

One more thing: when connecting a second screen on your laptop, be sure your graphic card will handle it with ease, whithout slowering the system.

I've got a 12" apple powerbook with a 20" apple screen, and I've noticed my computer is a little slower when they're both connected.

And: thanks everyone for your nice comments 1drink.gifMuch appreciated.
