Problem uploading/screen goes blank and locks up

When I use "Send to Smugmug" I have no problems at all.
But when I try to send by clicking "Add Photos" on my site...My screen goes dark and locks up. The computer stays running but I am unable to get anything back.
The only thing I can do at that point is to reboot my computer by holding the power button in until it shuts down.
I am running a newer computer Dell XPS 600 with dual core processors and dual graphics.
I am running a 30 inch Dell monitor.
Any ideas?

Sounds to me like you may be having some sort of java issue.
Can you confirm which uploader you choice ? Universal Drag & Drop ?
Does your whole computer lock up or just the browser you are using ?
What browser are you using ?

Not exactly sure what happens other than the screen going blank and I cant get it back. Comp is still running...cause one time i pushed buttons until I actually had music playing....still couldnt get the screen to come back.
I am here and standing by for your replies.
Thanks for the help.

Will trade 2 crisp examples of the "Kit Lens" for a 400mm 2.8
Try logging out of SM, that should clear your cookie along with the default choice of uploader. See how you go then.
