thanks all for your nice comments. This shot was taken at 2.8 iso 1600 hand held:uhoh ... the original was evening blue and blurred (how could it not be? I forgot my tripod :cry ) so I ran it through virtual photographer program - moonlit - to enhance it's grain and darkness rather than try to make it better. No big technique.. just a lucky shot that I tried to make better.

It's interesting how the left-hand part of the canoe (the one that's not a silhouette) is highlighted...
Mind to post the EXIF? It's a technically challenging shot, I'd like to learn how the masters do it

He is right about the siloette effect being on half the canoe and not the other half......... thats pretty dang clever isn't it.
