I do an initial sweep by running slideshow and setting -
red for absolute rubbish e.g out of focus,
Yellow for shots that are just ok or useful for taking elemnts from e.g cloning bits into another image
green for at least decent e.g would rate between 1-5 on the star scale.

    Then I dump my Reds.
Filter so im just viewing my greens and rate on a scale of-
    1* - ok worth keeping
2* - technically ok nothing special
3* - technically good would put on a wall at home
4* - Technically perfect would show in my portfolio/ a gallery
5* - Once in a lifetime shot! front cover stuff.

I currently have NO 4 or 5 * shots... but I will have
Trapped in my bedroom taking pictures...did i say bedroom? i meant studio!

    The DAM Book
Check out this excerpt from Peter Krogh's The DAM Book on ratings for a more in-depth version of Stustaff's system.
