Hi guys,

I don't answer PMs, for a few reasons: 1) there are MANY great helpers here on Dgrin, Pros who've been there and done that, and to get an answer just from me, is, I think, a disservice, when such great minds are about :) 2) I'm swamped!!!! 3) the answers, and discussions, are valuable to the entire community here - there are many folks with the same questions, same issues :D So, ask your questions in the open forums here, and then we can ALL help :deal

I got your post helping someone about how much charge for services.
I saw in your website the prices and everything. You also including a
    print set to the client?

    Or this is extra?
I am just starting taking pictures around. My friend ask my services.
Normally how do you deal with friends and family when you have to taking
    shoots and print their files?

    Thanks
I do not include any prints in my packages, they pay me upfront and then again when they want prints. There are, many ways to skin this cat though! I was just reading a fantastic series of articles in Rangefinder Magazine last night, about different ways Senior Portraits are done. And there was a great article on valuing our time. A must read.

Andy, I was looking at your price structure

and would like permission to use portions of your offerings. I do not wish to copy the page/lay out per say. Just the pricing and offerings.... I like the way you have worded the sections...
I'll understand if you say no. I'm trying to become more professional about my offering and nail down a price structure....

You are more than welcome to use anything of mine - keep in mind, though, that my pricing is what I've decided, you have to decide what your pricing will be. A great resource, is here:

I was wondering about selling some pictures from my gallery. The question is, I see most selling "prints" in different sizes and the like. Does this mean they are actually printing these out and then mailing them to buyers or what?

Also, is it better to sell just digital pictures and let customers do what they want or am I wrong in thinking this. I already have a a PayPal account so that is not a concern.

Sorry for being somewhat ignorant in this regard but I have never sold pictures. It has been suggested I consider doing it but I am no professional by any means.

Thanks for any advice on this and have a great weekend!

Hi, you can sell prints and/or digital files. Either way, you can protect your original images. Most pro folks on SmugMug have set prices, and have the printing doen by our Lab.

    Hey There Andy,

I was looking at your smugmug website and I noticed that you are displaying "smugmug" galleries on your site without displaying the smugmug domain in the address bar. For example here: http://www.moonriverphotography.com/...4937#104246074
I would like to be able to do the same on my site as the domain shift is confusing to clients and I was hoping you could provide some advice on this.

Also I would like to setup a hyperlink menu to access different smugmug views (such as popular images, galleries, bios and the like). Is there a quick and easy way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Hello Andy,

Thanks for the help over the past few months in answering some of my questions and emails! Love SM!

Hey, another smugger offered to design a basic WM for me since I don't post process with PS. I use the generic WM from dgrin but it's way too big.

Can you tell me what font style and size you use for yours at moonriver and the width and height dimensions? He would need this to design a basic WM for me.

    Thanks Andy! I appreicate it.

From our help page on watermarks,
    http://www.smugmug.com/help/custom-watermark-protection

you can get to this tutotrial on how to make one:

Which has dimensions and everything in it :)

    I hope this helps!
