feeds

the help for feeds makes it sound like clicking the logo for a feed will create a bookmark to that feed in Firefox and *bang*, i'm done.

unfortunately, this is not so.

i'm using Firefox 1.5.0.6 for OS X, and clicking the logo for a feed does nothing that i can see besides display a page full of HTMLy-looking code.

Control-clicking the logo and choosing "Bookmark this link" creates a bookmark that, when clicked, displays a page full of HTMLy-looking code.

i don't think this is how feeds are supposed to work.

anybody know what's wrong here?

thanks...

It is true, firefox isn't the best at dealing with feeds...

Unless you have an extension. Try something like sage perhaps.

heehee...thanks. :D i've actually been lurking on and off for a bit...

i appreciate the tip for the feed reader too - i've run the installerizer thingy and now just have to restart Firefox and see what happens... *crossing fingers*

no joy. Firefox behaves the same way with sage installed as without.

    *sigh*

not that i've ever been a fan of feeds anyway...but i did think it might be nice to be able to subscribe to my friends' galleries.

Hit option-s to open up sage and then subscribe to the feed. Then view the feed using sage and you'll be all set.

agreed. oh, will there *never* be one web browser that does *everything* well that a web browser's supposed to do???

frankly i'm not crazy about Firefox either. it just seems the least of all the evils out there...

hitting Option-s doesn't do anything. maybe sage isn't installed after all?

oh, now wait: i just hit option-s again and this time it opened a sidebar full of my bookmarks.

what does that have to do with subscribing to a feed though?
