A slower shutter speed would have been great to create more motion blur but the sun was too bright on the right of the stairs and I didn't have an ND filter with me. Plus, I tend to forget everything I know when I put the camera in my hand!
Here's a different motion shot in the park down the street -- more motion blur, less detail. Color between direct midday light and shadows was very difficult to hold so I converted to duotone.
