Fall Colors in the Eastern Sierras

Anyone here experienced the fall colors of the Eastern Sierras ?

Basically, Im looking for the peak times to go.

    My experience is in the Rockies in Colorado and Utah and the peak time for color in the fall depends on the weather and varies each year. Some years, the color change is followed by a strong front with wind and, poof, the color is gone. I suspect that if you email some of the locations in the eastern sierras they might be able to give you some local estimates.

    Hi, here are my pictures from last year.

    There is no single good weekend that you can decide to go. There are several areas which might reach peak colours at different times. The good ones I encountered were:

    June Lake Loop (near Mammoth)
    South Lake and North Lake area (near Bishop)
    Rock Creek (near Bishop)

    The Tourist Center in Bishop (opposide Erik Schaat's Bakery) gives you good information too.

    Most of the time just rely on people in these photo forums to tell you when is a good time to go.

    Thanks for the tips on locations. i did some searching on the net and found
    a site with that specific info as well as webcams of several areas there
