Full file path?

Just noticed this last night. I uploaded an image and for filename... instead of just the image name ex: IMG_1575 I get the full path where the file came from:

filename: C:\Documents and Settings\Steven\My Documents\My Pictures\Canon\081706\post\IMG_1575_poster |

curious as to why? I don't exactly need users knowing my file structure...

heh

Ditto -- had the same problem myself when uploading today

Fortunately my captions are short so it didn't take long to change them to the photo name but don't know why it is happening

Thought the upload indicator was different from last time but maybe that was my imagination or has there been an upgrade by Smugmug ???

I also noted that the upload progress box displays 2 progress bars. In addition to the filename, it also throws in a few keywords derived from the filename. I only get this with smuggy, not the XP uploader. I am running XP SP2 and FF 1.5.0.6

I uploaded slideshow buttons last night and it has the paths
for file names. Could this be why I can't get the buttons to
    show on the slideshow?

If it is I'll wait to debug when fixed. I couldn't help it:D, just
had to create a slideshow after reading all the blab about it.

No, the two are not related. Make a post in the slideshow thread, Allen deal.gif

Yal, I was going to do that, if this wasn't the problem.
    Thanks,

This problem has been fixed, thanks for your patience. Onethumb says that he *should* be able to get the filenames on existing photos, fixed for you, automatically. More on that later, and no, I don't have a timeframe on that part of it, but he did say that he'd get to it.

    Thanks Andy,
I had already "replaced" the four and it worked. These are the
slideshow buttons I needed but still can't get them to show.:cry Will
have to post in that thread.

Oh! BTW after each "replace photo" I got a blank page. FF1.5.0.6
    Thanks again,

It would be helpful if you cleaned up the DB after the fix. AFAIK, there is no way for a user to change the filename after it has been uploaded.

As Andy mentioned, we do hope to fix the problem filenames after-the-fact from our end. The only way to do this from your end would be to upload the photo again, using "replace this photo" feature. Sorry for the trouble!

Ufff...too much hassle. That would have to be done one photo at a time. :cry Seems like a much better idea for you guys to do it. thumb.gif

I'd be MOST grateful if you guys CAN do it from your end. Just during the problem time, my bro uploaded probably a thousand photos from my old Coppermine galleries! If I could sort by the basic file name, they'd be in the right order (for some reason the "date taken" file data has been lost). Thanks so much for working on it!

Can we get an update on this? The junk is still in the database. headscratch.gif

    Thx.

Don said "as he gets time" and so the moving of Data Centers this week I'm sure ate into that time.

Stay tuned, thanks for your patience.
