Hi,

I'm considering standard account via smug bug and I was wondering - what/how exactly does one recover all photos if I have a computer crash? In other words - lets say I apploaded 5000 pics across a bunch of galleries (all private) and I want to recover the full resolution pics due to a computer crash on my side...is there a utility, or some procedure? (I didn't find one yet)

PS: One other thing that is disturbing which I came across is the privacy issue representd by http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=6021 thread. :wxwax ... so I guess no keywords if I subscribe to the service.

Welcome to smugmug (not bug) and dgrin.

For the backup question, check this thread "Downloading my pics back to my computer" http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=40655 as it shows options for individual download, DVD backup, www.starexplorer.com, etc.

and if you happen to need a referral link to save you a few bucks and me as well mwink.gifhttp://www.smugmug.com/?referrer=lspQZXj5xA7vg

Thanks for the great links. The webdav option seems quite doable.

I'll keep that referral handy. I'm trying to compare picasa/webgallery, ofoto, shutterfly, etc... .

You're welcome and good luck with the different trial accounts. I did the same myself. One of the things smugmug had over the rest is the dGrin forum. I didn't see anything like it for the other sites and since I knew I wanted to customize my site, this forum was a big factor in the decision to go with smugmug.
