Here is my latest attempt. Some of my family say I've distorted myself weirdly but I really like it. C&C welcome. But also post your lastest attempts at the self-portrait.

What??? How many self-portraits do we have to post around here?

There's already that "Show us your Mug" set of threads, don't you know? :heh

Well, I love seeing self portraits .. and wish I had half a minute to rub together in order to take some, but alas my subject is not very inspiring rolleyes1.gif

I like the shot, but agree it is distorted - but in a neat kind of way ... love the b/w conversion, the whites of eyes are extreme ..!

I definitely like the perspective on that one. I'm not sure I could pull it off myself, as the size of my nose doesn't need any further exaggeration! :):

It's been a while since I've posted anything here, but since it just so happens that I recently took a self-portrait (the garden variety "take a picture of yourself taking a picture"), I'll bite:

    Gus,
I remember that one. Just had to brag that you won the self-protrait challenge? mwink.gifDclap.gif
    It's really good.
I like yours too wolfman, my favorite is the one with the fire trail but I had a bystander over my shoulder who 'ooohhhed' at the first one.
Antonjo, the first is nice but you look very scary to me. I like the second because you look like a more approachable, fun guy. But I always love doing the moody shots too.

Well I've said I'd try something but I have not time enough so here's a pic I've shot in Bénin early this year with my pal:

You look very edgy and artsy, but so much so it's like your poking fun at yourself. I didn't even notice the shirtlessness until I took in your eyeglass and hadn rubbing chin.
Very good for your first time...hehehe.

You are your own best subject GE. You only have yourself to argue with over taking too long or shooting too many.

Do we need to start "Self Nude Portraits" ??

re 'Do we need to start "Self Nude Portraits" ??'-

looks like somebody might be in shape for it-

    you have some neat selfs-

    re my 'self'-

gorman conversion, some noise 'grain', some gaussian blur, a lot of tweaking-

for whatever reason, into grain a lot lately-

The grain suits the shot...it puts a mood into it that i cant describe. I often chicken out of adding effects like that so i will make a point of giving it a go.
