Really nice shots, I liked the first one, a different angle.

What method did you use for the B&W conversion?

    Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks Andy

I saw that you were in California recently. Looks like you had a great time on the west coast. Still a place I need to go. Well I'm glad you like them.

    Thanks for the look ebwest

I use just a standard black and white conversion. I also do a lot of dodging and burning to adjust the tonal range.

    Thanks for the look

Some stunning shots. Yosemite looks great in Monochrome, very Ansell Adams. Enjoyed. Ian thumb.gif

Fantastic B&W -- love the photos, especially #2. Half Dome and sky took my breath away. Really good work.

    Mikko,

Nice series. I have an almost duplicat of #9. I do have a question though......I noticed that in the half dome shots in particular that one has full cloud cover, several have white fuffy clouds, and some have no clouds. Did you put some clouds in for effect? No criticism intended, just courious.

    Hello Sam,

I'm glad you like the series. To answer your question each picture was taken on different days. I live about an hour and a half from Yosemite so I go up there all the time. As for adding stuff to a picture, nah, I don't believe in that.

I saw your thread a while back, have you had a chance to get back up to Yosemite?

    Thanks for the look,
    Mikko

Thanks for answering. I would really like to get back, but I am sitting home right now with the possibility of needing back surgery, so it might be awhile. :cry
