Hi there Saurora...... yes I was amazed at how close I could get, as the blossoms were not all that big.

The DOF is pretty good, still shallow but there appears to be a good amount even at this closeness.

I was even more happy about that fact that I can still hand hold clap.gif

Thanks for the comment........ Skippy (Australia)

Hi there Possum :D another poster on the forum showed a Macro and described their set up, so I gave it a try myself, and used Brian's method of the Camera and Flash settings with it.

I'm really pleased with the results, and hope to find a bee when Spring comes around, as there are not many around at the moment.

    Thanks for looking......... Skippy (Australia)

Thanks Wally...... I'm pretty happy with the combo, it gives you lots of space to play with, need to test it out on a decent sized bug though, that will give me a better idea what it's really like as a Macro Setup.

Thanks for commenting Wally :D .... Skippy (Australia)

Macro is a lot of fun no matter what the weather conditions are, you can shoot inside or out, there's always something interesting to be found.

Adding filters, extention tubes, and tele converters is something I like experimenting with......... I am yet to try this particular set up with a decent sized bug or butterfly, and I look forward to giving it a try.
