I know, it's been done before: GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

Hey Dgrinners.

I made a trip out to the Golden Gate tonight. It was foggy. I was hoping for it to be clear....but I guess what's San Fran without fog.

I took all of these pics from the Marin side. I took two of these pics down by the Coast Guard pier (recommended in the Location Location forum). There were tons of people crab fishing on the pier. I took the last pic up on top of the look out point. I need to go during the day...or better weather. Seems like a lot of great picture taking spots in the Marin headlands.

enjoy

Nice work. I especially like #3. I lived in SF for many years and this one brings back memories of driving across the bridge at night in the fog. The orange light is really familiar. Makes me feel cold and damp--which is a relief in the hot, dry Madrid summer. :D

I actually prefer these to the "typical" ones - really captures the essence of the city. The last one in particular is perfect IMO.

After two tours in Viet Nam as a young sailor the Golden Gate was the first sign of home.

Nice to see her again. iloveyou.gif

These are different and pleasing captures. Thanks.

Seems I am in the majority too... I think the fog takes this from being "yet another Golden Gate Bridge pic" to being what I consider a "new" take on the bridge. The first one must look stunning blown up.

Lovely, 2 and 3 would be dull w/out the fog. I'm glad you persevered.

The second and third one are awesome. The light reflecting off the fog brings out a lot of emotion. Lets see some more.

I really like that 3rd shot, the fog makes the whole image very atmospheric, great job.

I wish I had some more! Thanks for the comments. I have a couple more at different shutter speeds but nothing totally different. Perhaps on a night where I'm not freezing my ass off! rolleyes1.gif
