Well I finally got a chance to go and try out my new Sigma 10-20 and see what 10mm is actually like. It's quite strange to be just over the road from a tall building and be able to get the whole thing in!

Comments & suggestions welcome :D

i like the 1st and 3rd ones. very smooth.

the 2nd one has too much of the wide angle distortion - even though i nkow the sigma is excellent at its lower range, actually better than it is at 20mm for distortion, but ultra wide angle is tricky. i have to read up on how to manipulate the wide angle perspective with lines and stuff...

i have this lens and love it to, it opens up a whole new world of photography when you first get it. what a great feeling. :D

Thanks for the comments athos, you're right that the second one isn't quite right, I think it's actually tilted to the left a bit. I'll need to try straightening it up and see if it gets better :):

I just bought this lens too. My wife and son have gone up North for the weekend so I'm free to give it a proper run-out this weekend (so far all I've managed is some close-up gurning mug shots of my 3-year-old boy and a couple of shots of the garden). Will post up some.

    Enjoy! :):
well, this is nice. I rather like it.

    Nice shots
This looks to be a very useful lens and will be looking for one myself when I can afford. I miss the ability to do crazy things with a realy wide angle. These are good shots but would agree that the shot identified by others needs a little PS. Ian thumb.gif

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun working out exactly what this lens can do.

I've rotated the second picture about as much as I can get away with and I think it looks a bit better, but it would have been better to hold the camera straight in the first place umph.gif. I don't how many of you know the building in the second shot but in reality it actually bulges in the middle. The wide angle distortion completely loses that!

I see what you mean - it does look more like a cigar that a gherkin in that shot!
