Hi folks
I've been playing with HDR pics recently. It's quite fun.
I'm amazed at the detail it brings up.

Here is the first HDR shot(s) I did. (American Kitchen)
This was 6 shots processed in PSCS2's merge to HDR.

The light in the pic is one dim bare bulb overhead, one range light and a garage sale lava lamp.

(30D)

The far corner of the kitchen to the naked eye was very dark. The HDR brought it up enough for good detail. In the far room, light was very bright and the HDR toned it down considerably.

I did an IR shot just for grins (digitally) and got very similar results:

(Sony F828 IR modded)

Unfortunately the compression here whacks the details so if you care, check them out here for much more detail.

Thanks

    Hey Skippy,
Laughing.gif. I think of my kitchen as "convenient".
Of course it's in a hundred year old house and the ceilings are higher than the distance between the walls.(What were they thinking then).

There isn't really a before and after as this is 6 shots taken at different speeds to give a very underexposed to a very overexposed then processed as an HDR (High Dynamic Range) shot showing shadow details in very dark places from the overexposed images, and showing the highlight detail from the very underexposed places, by merging the shots.

Here is a boatload of HDR shots:

    Cheers
