Question about Sigma DG series

If I get a Sigma lens for my 10D that's non DG what will I lose? :dunno :scratch

Just a straight EX HSM APO.

    DG is just a different coating on some of the elements, basic design is the same. Also, there's a different texture on the focus/zoom rings. Aome folks say it doesn't make a bit of difference - the coating, not the texture! lol3.gif

    At one point, Ziggy did a direct comparison between an older EX 70-200 and its new DG counterpart = the old one ended up being better.

    Isn't the DG like an EF-S? Created for the 1.6 crop only?

    That would be the DC line of Sigma's.

    DC = Designed for non full frame sized sensors
    DG = New coating designed for Digital cameras. Can be used on full and non full frame (with crop factor) cameras

    Almost as easy as keeping Tamron's Di-I and Di-II designations separated.
