resize thread

Somewhere there is a thread on sizing for the challenge and I'm darned if I can find it... If I put my challenge shot up in L it's too long no matter how big the actual image size is.. if I put it in M it's too small.. whats the secret on getting the length correct... (I should know this...):dunno :wxwax

    smugmug size -L cannot ever be larger than 800 pixels long on the longest side

    What Andy said, Lynn. I agree that using L for a portrait-orientated shot makes lots of people have to scroll. The only compromise is to post a Medium shot, but I always think that Medium robs the image of impact. It's a dilemma I've wrestled with many times.

    I'ts in the challenge 27 Andy .. would you mind taking a peek.. I could just link a slightly less tall version but I don't like the M size ne_nau.gif

    all you can do is in photoshop, make it the 'zact height you want, (600 pixels? 700 pixels?) save at compression level 8 or 9 (roughly 150kb or so) and then put it in a gallery from which you can link -O (original size).
