    thanks for the comments guys/gals. That little bug was only about 1/8 inch long. I'm so surprised the focus nailed his wings. I agree that the unfiltered shot is better due to the correct focus.

    I have to admit that shots like that are a whole lot easier with the Nikon Coolpix 4500 and its swivel design. It will macro focus right on up to the front lense element. My D50 would have had me down on my belly.

    Off to a day at the lake...we'll see if I can generate any HDR shots.
