    Doug,
    Another thing you may wanna use is to create an artificial vignetting.
    To achieve this, create another layer, darken it by multiplying or applying b/w, blur it of course, and then create a mask and apply radial gradient, using manual adjustment (brush) or free transform on the mask.

    I like the effect on the Second shot, you could have a lot of fun with that.
    The more you play around the more you learn, I am learning new things too and enjoying every moment, even it if is only Elements 3 :D
