Not sure if you guys can help, but we have a new vivitar 285 and there is about a 2 second delay from when my canon 20D goes off and when the flash goes off. We're using the pocketwizard 2. Any ideas???? I'm trying to use it for out shoot this evening at 7, so anything is helpful. thanks!

    Dori,

I have several Vivitar 285/285HVs, and I have nothing in my experience to explain that behavior. Definitely try a different flash unit to rule out something relating to the PW2.

I would suggest checking to make sure that the flash isn't firing on "Second Curtain", Custom Function 09. That would only fire the flash that late if the shutter was set to 2 seconds however.

Can you explain how you had the camera and flash setup? (As many deatails as possible.)

Sorry I missed your post, but I was busy myself this last weekend.

I agree with ziggy, its that or something is wrong with the PWs or the flash. Just try a different flash.

When you test the PW's, what happens? Do you see the led on the remote
instantly? Are the batteries in your flash fully charged? In otherwords, is the
flash ready when you are or are you trying to discharge it before it's fully
    charged?

    Otherwise, I'm out of ideas.
