A wildflower

I snapped a few pics after I took my dogs to the park yesterday. These wild flower weeds grow EVERYWHERE here in Denver. Freeway medians, you name it. These were along the curb next to where my car was parked.
It's pretty rare for me to catch an insect coming in for a landing in focus, so I was pretty excited when I saw this one.

What a beauty!
Gosh Charla I am yet to successfully capture a bee in flight.
Nice rich colour too, and your bee looks great heading towards the flower.
Great shot ......... Skippy (Australia)

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
Thanks Skippy! Have to say I got very lucky. I didn't hang around there for very long (my dogs were trying to jump out the car window!) so I didn't take more than 15 or so shots, so I was very happy with this one.

Nice capture. Those are hard to get as if you didn't know that already. I think we're all on a quest to find the focused bee in flight. I keep trying

Honestly I have no idea if this guy is actually a bee I'm terrible at IDing anything. I think to myself "Yeah, that kind of looks like a bee. It must be a bee!" Maybe I should rename it "Fuzzy Flying Bug"
This was shot with natural light as it was late morning around 11am on a sunny day. A little past the prime shooting hours but luckily the light wasn't too harsh.
This is my favorite lens of the two that I own and I've been getting pretty decent results with it considering it only runs around $200 : I use it for macros, action sports & nature/wildlife shots. I only switch to my 28-200mm when I'm shooting landscapes or people.
