Hi You'll

One of my favorite birds to shoot is the Snowy Egret.

Shot with Nikon D100 and 80-400VR 4.5-5.6 lens; ISO 250;focal length 165mm; Aperture priority and spot metering; 1/250 sec - f/9; exposure compensation
-0.7; white balance - cloudy

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thats a Great Egret
    Hi Lynn,

Good capture there. They are hard to shoot w/o blowing out the details in the feathers. The Great Egret has a body length of 37-41 inches and a wing span of 55 inches. It is a thrill to see them take off and fly.

I have to get up in the AM to catch the light. Then I go home and nap until the sweet light of the late afternoon. Its rough being a photographer. :cry
