These are great, clap.gif , may I ask what lens is this? Are these crops? I am still using my 75-300IS and I still wish I could get in tighter alot of times. I see alot of shots around here that I wonder if the person has a 500 or if they have a 300 with a 2.0extender or if they just manage to get closer to the birds than I can here in Ohio.....

    Thanks
Thanks everyone for the kind words, the lens is the ever famous Canon 400 5.6 prime with a Tamron 1.4 X.

The birds in most shots are cropped as much as 30% some are as shot, it was funny, the birds are sitting on top of what appears to be some sort of concrete drainage pipe, when approached some of the males would just drop down inside and disapear down the pipe somewhere.

After a while they would pop back up onto the ledge only to find two cameras clicking away at them.

The birds that were close to the highway were much more tolerant than the birds away from the highway, so they were much more tolerant of us.

Can't wait until next spring when the chicks are around, thanks again.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
