This weekend i got the chance to shoot Doncaster Lakers V Widnes Vikings
Doncaster got a bit of a beating. All shot on manual with 1D and 300mmF4

    gsgary, all very nice, especially love #1, #5, #7 & #8! Thank you for sharing. Do you always shoot sports in Manual mode? or have you used "Aperture Priority" too? Just curious.

    Only shoot manual now, when i shot these the sun kept going in and out of clouds so i had to keep an eye on exposure

    Thanks, that helps to know. I will try that out the next time I do sports photos. The last one I did of a HS football game, I did it in "Aperture priority", but had read a lot of posts that say use "Manual"

    Also with thier shirts being black and white it would have been under exposing and over exposing, i find i'm getting better colours and less noise when i'm shooting at iso3200 http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=41811

    Hmm, very interesting. That's taken at ISO 32000, those turned out really great. Thanks for the tips too.

    Great set of photos Gary,

    Definately shows the intensity of the game. That first one looks painful.
