Morning light macro

Couldn't sleep last night so I stayed up and drove to the prarie as the sun was rising. I got a couple I liked and a lot I didn't. A Red Tail Hawk flew right over my head and I missed the shot :cry. Oh well, that's what tomorrow is for. Take a look and let me know what you think. Time for me to go to sleep.

I liked how these looked backlit, I just wish the OOF flower wasn't there.

Thistle with dew in the sweet light.

Cool lookin moth I have never seen before. I found out that it is an Ailanthus webworm moth which is an introduced species.

Finally, believe it or not, this is grass.

I think that those shots are worth a sleepless night. The Thistle is classic. Okay gluwater ... come clean ... you took a spritzer bottle ... right - lol ... ?

These are super, Nick. Have to sacrifice a little sleep eek7.gif to catch that gorgeous early, early morning light! My problem is I sleep too well these days and miss it!!! thumb.gif

Get up early again tomorrow! Get those shots in before that long series of "cloudy, windy and cold" weather sets in! :encore

Thanks for looking Gary. And no I did not bring a spritzer bottle, although I have seen people do that. The dew point and the temperature here right now are working out to my advantage. There is fog and dew in the morning that makes things more interesting. What I have really been out searching for are dragons. I really want a dragonfly shot with the sweet morning light and dew on its wings. But sadly I have not been able to find any yet. Maybe I just won't go to sleep until I find one:):.

I do the same thing Saurora. The only way I ever catch the sunrise is when I stay up all night. I am the furthest thing from a morning person you can get.

I like the warm light, the simplicity of the thistle and the abstractness (is that a word?) of the grass spikelets. Good job.
