Would appreciate some advise and figure you folks might know, but if this should be moved somewhere else .....:dunno

I have a Nikkor 300mm f4 that I have just purchased. Love it. I would like to get a 1.4TC, and the obviuous choice is the Nikon glass. Their current model is listed as TC-14E II. I see a lot of TC-14E's on eBay but they are not the II model. Can anyone tell me what is the difference? And how about the Kenko brand? Is that worth considering to save a few bucks? I would hate to lose much AF speed and /or sharpness.

Not much interest here so I answered my own question with some research on various sites. I have orderd a Kenko Pro 300 DG. Way less $ than Nikon but seems to perform just as well. And apparently there are only cosmetic differences between the 14E and 14E II Nikon models if you prefer to go that way.

Hope this helps someone else with Nikon gear.

Got it a month or so ago and have no complaints. It does slow down AF on the 300 f4, but that is expected and not severe. I cannot compare to the Nikon version, but at the price I paid (from HK), I think the Kenko is an excellent purchase.

It does not work with the Sigma 70-200. Have not tried it with Nikkor 18-200.
